Vacuum line

Vacuum line
The vacuum line from the air pump located on the bottom right of the engine has come disconnected, on the other end, and I can't find where the line attaches. I have a 85 380 SL. It looks like it attaches somewhere on the top of the engine but where? I've looked at diagrams but they don't give a location for the components. Is there any photos of vacuum line locations?

normally it would attach to an air shut-off/blow-off/diverter/by-pass valve called by various names. you might look under the exhaust manifold. go to autohausaz.com and go to your model of car, go to emmisions and click on air/smog pump check valve to see what it looks like.

you don't see a solid pipe coming out of the block and going under the exhaust manifold? my sl is a 129 and is not the same engine, but generally they should be simular in emission control. mine comes out just above the exhaust manifold mid-engine and goes down and under the manifold to the by-pass valve then to the pump. you might want to subscribe to alldata.com. it can come in handy for things like this.
