Default urgent: pins on regulator of blower motor

hi,

one stupid question.

it is about the pins of the regulator of the blower motor in a SL 560, 1987 car.

I guess I put them together the right way, but is there a wrong way so that someone could go wrong in using blower motor?

the question comes up as my blower motor makes noises! but it still works. i am going now to buy a new blower motor as it is easier to replace it then only the fans (dont know how to get them out and replace).

But could the pins cause any irregulations to the blower motor so that it makes noises if they are not plugged in correctly?

a quick response is highly appreciated as I am looking up offers on blower motors. thanks a bunch!!!

Mercedes does a really good job with connectors in that they usually only go together 1-way. For your own piece of mind, reverse the plug-in to see if goes in easily. If you have to 'fight' with it, you had it right the first time. Don't bend anything in your little experiment.

Hello Bob,

thanks for your reply.

Everything then is just fine :-)
I just put everything together after cleaning. I let it run for a bit and so far no disturbing sounds at mo'. Hope it stays like that :-)

again, thanks for the info

The short answer is time. The dissipation of the WD40 'aroma' depends somewhat on how much of the stuff you sprayed in the first place. Until it does dissipate, if the smell is too much to take, turn the blower off and open the windows (weather permitting) Heat from the engine is enough to eventually get rid of the odor. You're certainly noticing it alot more with the blower running as it brings the smell into the car.
