Default Thinking of Purchasing an R107 SL

Hey guys, I'm looking into purchasing an R107 model SL, I am just looking for some advice as to which one to get. Is there any benefit to getting one from early on in production or should I just go with one of the newer 560s? I'd also like a manual transmission but I know you need a european model to get one, is it worth looking into finding one for the transmission? Anything you guys could tell me about the car would be great to hear. Also I don't want to be spending over $20,000

the euro models will perform better, less smog stuff, and I think they are better looking. if you're going to spend up to 20k for a 107, have you thought about getting a 96-98 129? cars.com

Thanks, the 20g is just the cap, I'd prefer to spend under 15 though. I was thinking about going for the late 90s models but I just like the styling of the 70-80s much better

the sl is simply a work of art going back to the mid 50's. get a garage kept only. if one has been setting for over a year, you may want to drain the gas tank.
