Default Sport package on SL500

I'm looking at a 99 SL500 for purchase. Doesn't have the Sport Package. I was wondering what options came with the Sport Package on the 99 Sl 500. It does have aftermarket 19" forged wheels and Conti's.
Another question: In California you can't buy an extended warranty over the internet or through a warranty company. Only offered through a dealership. Can I buy a Starmark Warranty through a dealership? Any idea on cost? This car has less than 10k miles on it. I'm excited in prospect of getting the car, but have looked at posting on reliability issues and would be more comfortable with an extended warranty...Any help would be appreciated

Thanks Lynn...Did a little more research. Even though it doesn't have the Sport package, I bit the bullet.
99 SL500 with 9900 miles...Yes 9900 miles. Clean carfax. Absolutely pristine. Guy has 3 other MB's...
Checked out clean with the local MB dealer. In fact the 12k service has already been done.
19" HRE Forged rims with new Conti's

I am stoked.
Still need to get an answer on an extended warranty. But at this point I am not worried about reliability.

Thanks again...Post some pics soon

I bought my Y2K SL500 with 19K miles. Please rethink the extended warranty. I don't believe it's necessary with a 9K mile car. Keep the money in your pocket in case you need to spend some later. But quite honestly I don't think you will find any issues.
Be careful with the lower profile tires that you probably have with the 19" rims. The lower the profile and the larger the rim the greater the chance for a bent rim when you hit a pothole, etc. $80-$100/wheel to repair.

What color is it? Silver or Black. IMHO a 1999 was the best year to buy. The only thing that you might want to do is have the exhaust tip chromed for $50-$75.

Thanks....33k
Another question..sorry

I have the base model no sport or value pkgs. I want to add the trunk mounted CD changer.
Bose system with Amp in cubby behind the seat.
Looking for the trunk mounted CD changer. Dealer wants $764.00 plus install..

Question is this system Fiber Optic or straight plug interface? Any quick way to tell before I order?
Any MB part number?

Found this one at:
SoundGate.com

Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

Your car should have a Fiber Optic cable located in the left hand side of your trunk behind the paneling. I understand you will also find phone connectors there as well. When you purchase the player don't forget to purchase the CD mount brackets or make your own.
