SL550 Fuel door opens

SL550 Fuel door opens

My '08 SL550 fuel door opens when I use the remote to unlock the driver door. Happens most of the time. Any help?

i would say the latch is probably broken on the fuel door. does it work normally when getting gas? it definatly shouldnt pop open. something out of alignment or bad latch at the fuel door.

Fuel Latch

The receiver part of the latch is gouged some and appears to be worn on the edge of the catch. Probably will clean up some b/4 replacing.
