hello, the driver's door on my 450 requires that i jerk hard twice on the handle to open it - this drives my wife nuts -- not a long trip what is happening and how do i correct ? tanks, pat

 

What kind of shape are the rubber window moldings in. A mechanic told to change all the ones on my 450SLC as the doors will eventually sag, but your is a droptop hey? However the doors could be sagging?

Or try a bit of WD40 or Lithium grease, did you check to see if the stricker and the door are aligned?

 

you mean you need to pull the handle farther out in order to unlock the catch?

 

Spray some WD40 on the lock on the door and some into the back of the handle
