Default Roll Bar Problem

New guy here - 92'-500SL. Top and windows seem to work well, but the "new" dash roll bar dash switch has no effect on the bar. When the top goes down the bar lays down until the top is down - then stands up. Put the top up and the bar stays up with no response from the switch. For a couple of months of driving the roll bar would jump up a few inches - maybe from a bump in the road. I would use the bottom to drop it - then the switch fell apart. Now new switch and nothing. It did blow a fuse when the switch fell apart, but since replaced it. (under hood fuse) The bar is working, but not with the switch. I have tried the "hold dash button for 20 seconds trick" and I have disconnected the battery. Any ideas?

i'd check the roll over switches/sensors on the back side and to the inside of the rear axle cover. there is a L shaped lever and the point facing up and should be about a 3/8" away from the lip of the bottom edge of the cover, check for damage to the switch or wires . unplug and check connections to the module in the middle of the behind the seats storage compartment, to the inside of the top controller. make sure it is secured flat to the floor. if that doesn't solve anything, it can do a limited self diagnostic.

Default 2011 SL roll bar has mind of its own!

I think my 2011 SL 550 is haunted. The Roll bar goes up anywhere from a half an inch, to halfway, all by itself, after the car is shut off! I took it to the dealer and of course it didn't happen there for the service guy to see for himself.
