I am going to replace the hood insulation pad on my 87 560SL, I have removed the pad . What is a good product to remove the old glue without hurting the paint. Thanks

 

if the old glue looks good why remove it.? just remove all the padding etc. If you feel you must remove all the glue, try regular non-ecofriendly paint thinner. do NOT use lacquer thinner. I glued my new pad over the old glue with no problem, it just needs to be clean and free of any of the old padding, engine oil and dirt. the paint thinner will act as a cleaner. cover the engine compartment well.
