Radio Antennae 1997 SL320
Hi Gene;
I just recently picked up a 98 sl500 that had a stuck antenna mast. Do you hear the antenna motor making sounds that it is trying to raise or lower the mast when you turn the key on/off? If yes, your antenna mast may have separated from the nylon drive belt. If you have the inclination to remove the motor from the trunk, then you most certainly can open the unit and see what might be wrong. These units are really quite simple. The problem would be finding the individual parts for them. Good luck.

Thank you. I can hear the motor and suspect your diagnonis is correct. I got one similar reply suggesting the same or a slightly bent mast. It will be a few weeks before I tear into this but I appreciate your response.
