R129 Window dropper

R129 Window dropper
I have just constructed for myself (being amongst others an Electronics engineer) a window dropper for my 92 R129.
I observed a significant difference in the force required to close the door with the window down a jot, and that more recent ones (95? on) had this sorted by dropping the window.
So, I have fitted an electronic circuit into the car which drops the window an inch when either door opens, and puts it back again when the last door closes.
Door closing force is now much more consistent.
Anyone out there also like one as a retro-fit kit? Should I consider a production run? Potentially also works on all sorts of cars, not just SLs, but the convertibles are more likely to need it with the firm push of the door seals as well.

RE: R129 Window dropper
I've done the same for my SL...It's very easy actualy. All I did is install a second door switch to triger the window with 0.5sec delay.
The sistem involves 2 5V relays and 1 IC7400 and trimer to controll the delay. Open the door....drops the window 1/2" ...close the door closes the window...
Not a big deal at all...same as lock /unlock pulse on alarm.
Welcome to America .......

RE: R129 Window dropper
Chaps - I would be very interested to know the exact methods you did to achieve this. Location of switches, circuits and circuit diagrams would be very much appreciated.
If this works out, I plan to install the post '95 type seals to the car which would mean I get rid of the water ingress problem that pre '95 cars suffered from (water being a constant ****le for those of us who live in the UK).
Any help would be great.
Thanks.
Graham.

RE: R129 Window dropper
Update on this:
I am commercialising this since there seems to be a need for it.
It has a microcomputer in it so it can be very intelligent, all electronic (FETS not relays), no extra switches, user calibrated times, and very compact. It knows if the window is already down, etc. Autoclose with lock, and delay close till after the car starts etc. if you want. All features I've observed are very handy from my use of the one I have made that was a non-micro version.
Let me know if you are interested, and I can keep you posted by email. I know exactly how to wire into an R129, but of course can be used in any vehicle once you figure the wiring.
