I have a 2009 SL550 that I drive approximately 3000 Miles a year. Mercedes say you should change your oil every year. All my oil changes are with Synthetic oil. I don't think it is necessary to changer the oil every year. How do others feel and is there a way of getting rid of the oil change due message?

Hello - with new advances for oils, especially synthetic oils; it's recommended that you change your oil every 6-9k miles depending on driving. If you have a scan tool for your Mercedes, you can likely turn off the oil change alert - there isn't a way to do it from any settings within the car. I like to change oil at about 6,000 using synthetic regardless of time oil sets in the engine as long as you do run the car once in awhile, 3k a year is ok. so every 2 years for you.

should change abc fluid from 30 to 40 k too. it's fairly easy, need to be clean
