How to REMOVE TOP Manually?

How to REMOVE TOP Manually?
Just bought 95 320.
First question: Can somebody show me how to remove the hardtop?
Second question: I have a leaky latch mechanism which is well documented on this forum BUT, How do you
remove the hardtop to get to the latch mechanism if the latch pours hydro fluid and won't release the top?

RE: How to REMOVE TOP Manually?
GregZ,
Your post reads like you may not have gotten an owners manual with the car as I believe the info you need would be in there. If you follow this link that was put up temporarily from another forum, you can download a pdf copy of the manual. You will need the wrench that comes in the MB toolkit that should have come with the car. Good luck

PLEASE NOTE...THIS LINK IS NO LONGER OPERATIVE. FILE HAS EXPIRED

RE: How to REMOVE TOP Manually?
Greg,
Sorry to hear about your leak! I just wanted to let you know that I rebuild any of the hydraulic cylinders in the R129 and W124 convertible top system for $30 each + $10 total shipping. I warranty the seals I replace for 3 years. I've been doing this for a while on the benzworld.org and the mercedesshop.com SL forums, where you will find discussions on my work. I rebuilt the windshield latch cylinders a few months ago for Mr Bob Jones who was the first to reply to your post.
I strongly recommend that you repair the cylinders in pairs since the increase in pressure will likely blow out the seal in the cylinder that wasn't repaired. The fact that you have a leak isn't just a fluke. The seals harden with age and crack. MB used the same seal material in all of the cylinders, so make sure to check all 12 cylinders in the R129 top system. If you see even a drop of fluid coming out of a cylinder, you can bet the seal will be failing soon. I priced my service to repair all 12 of the cylinders cheaper than 1 or 2 of the cheapest cylinders from the dealer to help keep people from getting ripped off from their high prices.
I will usually have your cylinders back in the mail to you in 1-2 business days after I receive them.
