Default How to disable passenger airbags on an SL500 97'?

I need to disable the passenger airbags on my 1997 SL500 so I can install an infant car seat for short trips. Apparently, the BabySmart automatic child seat recognition system was included on the 98' models onward. I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas on how to disconnect the passenger airbags on the 97' SL500.

you need to take it to the dealer. they will use HHT or Star Diagnosis to disable it.

you may need to sign a paper, and a sticker label will be put on the side indicating that the airbag is not functional.
