one way to tell if the fan clutch is bad is to try to stop it while is moving. it should not be able to be stopped. if you can slow the fan with your hand usually means its weak. becareful....use a rag or a heavy glove and try to stop the fan. you can try to engauge the fan clutch by putting a large towel in front of the radiator so air cannot flow to the engine then raise the rpms to 4000 rpms for a while until the engine gets hot and the fan will kick on or should kick on. if the clutch is good the fan will engage abruptly . then you can try to stop the fan. that was 1 way i was tought to check the fan clutch. i guess what Bill F stated could work also.

I would practise typing with one hand before grabbing the moving fan.

I would run the car until it was really hot and shut it off, tie a string to the fan and the body, and restart engine. If the clutch works the string should break, unless you use to strong a piece.

Clean the radiator and the condenser coil with a garden hose first.

Thank u for the good replies...the fan clutch was very bad...it freewheels when i just push it a little..more like 5 or 6 spins... so i changed it...and made the front fan stronger..it got better.. the thermostat is new...and still highway temp is 105 or 104 WITH AC...the ENGINE-RADIATOR hose has no pressuere..like not hard... i dont know what the hell is happening.... thank u guys again
