Default Engine missing

Hi guys, I haven't been on this forum before although I have had my 94 SL600 for some time now; just too much work & not enough play!!

Now I've started to use my SL a bit as it was just parked in the garage not doing much. But a problem has cropped that has my mechainc puzzled & we can't grasp the problem.

It all started months ago when all of a sudden, the engine started losing power & missin between 1500-2500 rpm. Apart from that rev range it runs perfectly although it feels a little under powered compared to usual.

All the usual serviceing has been done & some other bits like the upper wiring harness between the heads, & air flow sensors have been replaced.

The car has now done 60000 miles.

Any ideas??

Smile Engine missing after sitting

I experienced a similar problem on another car (non- Mercedes) after not driving for 2 months. An oxygen sensor stopped working, my check engine light came on (2003 model) and I experienced missing at specific RPM range. After replacement (and removal of the manifold because it wouldn't other wise loosen up) the engine was smooth and my wallet was lighter. Regrettably, I believe your car has more than two. My replacement involved one of two. I don't know how people handle owning too many cars and unable to drive all.
