i just came across this site and wow am I impressed and happy to see it..
i hope i can be of help to others in the months/years to come.
i have one question, my convertible top is leaking hydraulic fluid in the interior of my car. can i fix this myself and how so?

Any of you sl owners especially 1994 500sl owners here in san antonio Texas,would really appreciate some help with the leaky convertible left hand side and some other help with the recently acquired benz.IT WAS A GREAT FIND BUT JUST NEED SOME TLC.thanks ,ed.

 

yes you can do it yourself. but you gotta remove the visors and light assembly and top plastic piece. and then take out the piston and install a new one, then check and correct the level of the oil for the top.

 

i was trying to open the soft top when all the fluid when down the driver side front of rear tire,when i was able to see some fluid coming out on top of the actuator but ran out of fluid and could not see where it was really coming out at.now that i have an idea do i open that section,add some fluid and see where the leak is at? its a 94 500 sl

Car wont start. Dash lights up when I turn on ignition but I get nothing.. Help..(Maybe starter lockout) ,. I have tried the owner's manual solutions but nothing. I am a woman and only a tiny bit mechanical.
