My dad just bought this car with 9800 miles on it and it is immaculate in and out. He cannot get the cd changer to work after reading the manuals. he has no contact back to the owner so he is on his own. He bought a new changer (the exact same one) and that didn't get recognized either. A stereo place did this for him. So now the old one is back in and i don't know that they shed any light on why it might not be working. He doesn't want them taking out the stereo from a dash that has never been tampered with and I don't blame him. I just want to know if anyone has any advice since he would rather go without a cd player (and i think that stinks since the car is so great) then have them tear into his stereo/dash.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have the same problem with my 98. The tape and radio work fine. The problem has to be in the main head unit itself or in the wiring (communication between the main head unit and the 6 disc trunk changer). I talked to my dealer and was told that no one repairs these stereo units. They are replaced.
