If I turn the air conditioning blower motor switch to the first position the 'fan' produces a squeel. It is annoying. If I increase the fan speed, the noise goes away. Sounds like a worn bearing or something of that nature. I'm wondering if there is a fix other than buying a new, $450.00, blower motor?

just a try- if the dealer does this it will cost$$$$ i may think it is the little metal strap that holds the motor to the housing which also is only held in by one littly itsy bittsy screw- if you can take it apart to the point you are looking at the blower motor and you notice you can move any part of the motor/or fans you have found your problem- the strap which holds the motor needs to be made stable once again- look at previous posts for a really easy DIY afternoon project which is actually quite easy. benz of tucson wanted $1400- i did it for a 6 cent screw from home depot (now that is a screwing!) best luck, george
ps- if the strap is loose/broken the fans(I cant think of the work- the barrels/cages with fins that make the air move similar to fan blades on a fan) will rub against the housing making this sound
