might take the top off and look at both locks. first from the top, look into the hole to see the latch and compare each. the top may be holding the latch closed. then pull back liner to access the assembly. it really is easy to remove. have you found the leaking cylinder yet? you will have to replace them all in time. the car in my mind is worth all the headaches

I have a 98 and they did eliminate the direct access to the manual lock/unlock. If you pull back the carpeting it is there but not red anymore. I got it to lock/ unlock but it was a lot of playing with it. I used wrench instead to get at it better. Good luck
