Default battery tender

Hi Guys, I just bought a new battery
for my 2000 sl500. I've heard not to
put a battery tender on it for the winter.
Any pros or cons about this?
Thanks in advance,
Rich

if you are not driving it weekly and for at least 30 minutes id strongly recommend it..
just be sure its a well controlled tender and cannot overcharge.

I use a tender on all of my 'non-winter- vehicles. Don't know why someone would suggest not too (I suppose they were worried about the electricals). May want to steer clear from off-brands unless you know your stuff, but I'd think most should do you fine.

As other members have suggested, this is a good idea and highly recommended for extended storage and/or if you're not driving the car weekly.
