Default anti roll bar and roof issues - again

hi i know this has been brought up before, but i am looking for some new ideas. my rolll bar is stuck in the up position and i cannot lower it. i have no warning lights for roll bar or roof.
how can i lower this bar as it feels locked?

also because this is in this position would it stop the roof from working/

i noticed the other day 1 of the rear suspension switches for the roll bar was broken. would this cause this problem?

any help would be appreciated

regards

disconnect switch and see what happens. check switch for continuity with an ohm meter or test light. shouldn't have any unless activated

However i am getting the audible alarm when driving and i have these codes for the soft top

i have erased them started engine and they reappeared.

what is the best solution for me

check connectors on the controller in your passenger side, behind the seat, storage compartment. disconnect all and reconnect, especially the power. after reconnecting, top up or down, hold down the window switches in the up position for about 8 seconds. not often you have an "everything's wrong". hopefully it isn't the controller.

hi , i have tried what you suggested and an now getting these codes
5,8,19,21,22,23,25,30

when i erase all codes the red roof switch is dimly lit.

i have erased this set of codes twice, so it seems fairly consistent

I was hoping we could reset the controller by cutting power. obviously you shouldn't be getting codes while driving. makes me think you have a short some place or the controller is bad. I've had mice get into my car's wiring and cause all kinds of issues. code 5 indicates right cover closed switch is bad, 8,19,21,22 are codes that are not used on early model 129s with the 129 820 00 97 controller. 23 is the roll bar module is not functioning. 25 contradicting inputs. 30 top operation disabled because of 29 which is wheel speed from abs control module is missing. none of these codes should be showing unless asked for at the diagnostic port. odd too that none of these other problems showed until you replaced the rollover switch for the roll bar. try disconnecting the roll bar module in the middle of the storage compartment where the top controller is located and see what happens. an extra top controller would be nice to have. I seen a 00 97 on ebay for about $500. even if it's not the problem it's nice to have for future diagnostics.

hi, thanks for the reply
i have checked through all of the switches relating to the soft top and they all do what they are meant to, continuity wise.
once i did this i managed to get the roll top down, and the roof now works as it should,
up and down.
however when the top is down i get no alarms
when the top is up i get an alarm and one code,
2- limit switch, left locked, soft top storage compartment cover

i have checked switch again and cannot erase this code
fine when down not when up

what do you think

regards

Lee
