My 99 SL500 hasshows a fuel system warning. Been to the shop twice 1st time a new gascap, light returned within a few miles, second time relacedcanister shut off valve and fuel pressure sensor. Problem returned within 80 miles. Car runs well, slight shutter at idle.

Any ideas?

What were the specific error codes you pulled off the system?

Per the bill... it looks like 203. it says faulty per tech 203.

 

If 0203 was the fault code and not the Tech's Employee Number, this code specifically references the fuel injector in cylinder 3. I created a word doc copied from alldataDIY.com that explains this fault code/test proceduresand will send it to you as an attachment.

As a follow up: Got the careback from the dealer again, they have replaced the purge valve. They did eat the labor costs this time and the car seems to be running very well.
