Does anyone have a clue as to why my A/C would work perfectly (blows very cold) each time I start the car for the first 3 minutes and then it starts to blow warm/hot. It's been happening for the last three weeks. The car has only 25k miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help you with your problem because I am new to the mercedes game. I'm looking to purchase a 97 SL600 with the SL1 sport package. Are you happy with your car? any advise regarding the quality of the year and the maintenance of the vechicle? thanks in advanced.

I have owned the car for about three months now, so my opinion is coming from short term experience. The car is everything that I have expected and more. The power, handling (for a car of that weight) and luxury is what drove me to pick that car. I have owned american muscle cars, european sports cars and everyday cars, but none compare to this car. When I first got the car with 24k miles on it, I put new tires and rims on it, after I changed the tires the car drove even better! I didn't think that was possible. The quality of craftmanship is top of the line. Another reason I picked a sl600 over the sl500 was the interior. The leather on the 600's holds you in the seats better, plus it better quality and looks better. As far as maintenance, I have only put about 900 mles on the car and have to do nothing yet. Although I am trying to figure out the A/C issue. I have been advised these engines will run perfectly if you perform routine maintenance. I hope my repsonse was helpful.

is it possible (i just experienced this today and began to address the problem tonight)- i am here is WARM tucson, az- (95 +)i only use AC int he morning on my way to work- great AC for 10 mins and then less after... i believe the problem is the AC is 'too full'- R 134 systems with too much r 134- pressure gets too high and then begings to blow warmer and warmer with more pressure. i hope other post on this reply to clarify this issue for others. george
