Hi. I'm new to this forum. I have an 89 560sl airbag deployed in an accident. Quoted $1700 from Germany by Mercedes. Can the airbag be replaced by one from another car, or can the system be bypassed in anyway? I will probably have to sell her otherwise. Any info or referral would be very helpful. (Can anyone even see this post? Posted on general tech with no replies) :/

there are some used srs modules at New & used cars, trucks, motorcycles, parts, accessories ? eBay Motors from $200 and a airbag and module combo for $250. disconnect ground before making repair. look online for some youtube repairs or get an alldata subscription. not that hard.
