Hi,

My 500 SL won't shift into 3rd and 4th gear except occasionallyif I play with the shifter (put it into N and back to D really fast). This doesn't help everytime though.
I've checked the ATF level and colour, it seems to be OK.
Another annoyance is the oil level light that's lit all the time though the actual oil level is OK.

Any ideas anybody?

I think it's not gonna show any codes as the tranny is not electric. I'll have it checked tomorrow; just hoping I won't need to rebuild it totally. They said yesterday when I talked with themthat with a little luck it might be just a modulator failure.
