Car idles fine,engine revs fine when in neutral,runs fine until you hit about 60 miles an hour.Then it wants to surge from 2200 to 2500 rpm and when you press on gas pedal it will not increase rpm

 

check vacuum advance diaphragm. suck on the line to it . should not be able to pull air through it. go to autohausaz.com to see what it looks like if you don't know. check vacuum lines, rotor and distributor cap. maybe the cam position sensor. as a last resort, you might have the fuel pump pressure checked

 

Thanks for the info.I will check these out.I have ordered a OVP also.I have read several post on the internet that indicate that could be a problem.I took it out yesterday and it has something rattling around the inside of it.

 

Well I had ordered OVP before you gave suggestions .Installed it today did not fix problem.Checked the Vacum advance and sucked on the line coming out of it and it just sucked air right on through.It must be a busted diaphragm .Thanks for the suggestion I will order one of those.
