2002 sl radio code

RE: 2002 sl radio code
If you don't have any of the books that originally shipped with the car which would include a small credit card sized card with your code on it, you may have to wait til Monday. Call the nearest MB Dealer, give them your VIN, and they should just give the code to you over the phone. Some Dealers require a stop-by, others have asked for a fax of your owner's card to prove ownership of the car.
When you have the code, turning on your radio will produce the word 'code' in the display which you now enter from the keypad. If the word 'code' does not apprear and you get a blank screen, you've got other problems to deal with. You may also get the words, 'please wait' in the display, which means too many attempts were made with a bad code. If this happens, just leave the radio on, drive the car a day or two and the message will clear itself back to 'code' automatically.
