Default 1998 sl500 repair manual needed

I'm trying to find a repair manual or dvd - fairly detailed - for my SL500... Any suggestions or sources?
Thanks!

One thing I can tell you is stay away from the CD's on e-bay. Not worth the time or effort. Not only that but because most are under $25.00 e-bay won't help you recover your purchase price. A lesson I learned the hard way. Good Luck I'm still looking for my 320SL

Thanks... I figured they had little real value. Years ago, I had a 91 and 89 300E, for which I had the "factory" manuals from MB. That's the detail I hoping for.

You can still get the 129 cd from www.mbusa.com for $79, and/or subscribe to alldata DIY, www.alldatadiy.com/index.html, similar to the service most indie techs use except dumbed down for us wannabe's. Annual subscription is $24.95 and is actually quite good. I end up using both from time to time.

Bob - Where do you find the 129 CD at MBUSA? I went to the site and couldn't find any reference of repair manuals... Could you possibly direct me further?
Thanks

Joseph, try this -

you may have to call the 800# to buy the material...1-800-FOR-MERCEDES. The product number of the 129 Service Manual Library is P-2700-129-04-

Manuals Unlimited.com has DVD's in sets for
$79.95 and are suppose to be very detailed. I'm even thinking about giving them a try. Each set is for a particular year and Model which is what I want. I don't want it to generalize for several models like some manuals do. Good Luck

Thanks all... I just ordered the DVD from MBUSA and will also, based on the good suggestions, 'invest' $25 bucks in the AllData subscription.

Joseph,

Glad you found/ordered all you need. One comment on the AllData website, make ample use of the Search tool to find the exact topics you're after. While they did dumb it down for us DIY'ers, some of the material can be 'challenging' to find. Good luck and have fun-

I have the CD Part Number P-2700-129-04 and it says it covers:
Repair Information
Wiring Diagrams with Component Locations
Parts Information
Service Bulletins
Diagnostic Manual
and other information Model 129 MY 1990-2002

This manual does not meet my needs and I would be happy to sell it for a fair price. I paid $120 for it at the dealer and it had to be ordered. It is Keyed so you can't use it by copying it.
