Default 1997 SL500 AMG Blower motor

My AC/Heater blower is not working. Sometimes when I'm on the freeway the fan will kick in, briefly. My coworker gave the idea it might be the blower motor. Maybe the wind hitting the car at freeway speeds might help to turn the blower wheels to help it past a bad spot. From what I've learned the blower motor assembly is buried below the wiper motor. I'm just wondering if anyone here has had the same problem or might have some advice. Thanks in advance to all. Shawn

what it could be is the bracket that holds the blower motor in place pops off or breaks off then the motor is able to move and the fins of the blower fan hit the blower housing.....but usually when the bracket is broken youll be able to hear the blower hitting the housing thus causing a buzzing noise when the blower is on....so you could have a bad blower regulator. which is the same location as the blower fan
