Just took my Mercedes out of winter storage and now it seems the transmission is leaking and the check engine light it on.can I remove the negative battery cable to turn off the check engine light. I never had any problems last year but now when I start out it is slipping bad

 

Trans is not leaking but slipping

 

how old is the fluid and how is the level? when checking level, check for metallic specks in in the fluid. does the fluid smell burned?
