My 1997 SL 500 started to act wierd today? first I had the oil light, SRS light and asr light (yellow) stay on after start up and all the gages would not work...stopped and restarted and it seemed to clear up? but 5 miles later all the gages froze and the tranny started banging into gear? when i got home (6 miles later) I could smell something burning and the engine was running rough?

Can anyone help?
