We got an 1987 mercedes 560 sl on the lot at our dealership it has no owners manual or anything and i was having trouble trying to figure out how the hard top comes off? i have no idea i assume it has something to do with the windowlever looking thing in the back but im not really sure. step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated

 

There are five (5) unlatching points:
[ul][*]Above each sun visor[*]On the two mid door posts just in front of the real window[*]And the real lock which is operated by the lever under the left rear window.[*]You will need or should have a metal 'L" shaped lever for this purpose.[*]YOu also need to unplug the electrical connector for the rear window defroster. It should be on either the left or right door post area plugging downward from the roof.[/ul]Depending upon condition getting the locks to function properly can be difficult. Especially, the rear lock. Mine would stick and require numerous attempts.
