Default 1986 560sl messed up distributor and crank shaft pulley position

Hi,
I was changing the water pump on my 1986 560sl following the procedures I found from pelicanparts.com. However, on my one the bottom bolt to the water pump was not accessible through the crank and I had to remove the crank pulley and harmonic balancer. Unfortunately, the crank pulley and harmonic balancer was a bit rusty and sticky to the crank shaft. while I tried to remove the bolts and pulley I turn the crank but didn't notice I had the distributor off as I needed to gain access to one of the right corner bolt to the water pump. And even worse I forgot to mark the harmonic balancer's position while I focused on wiggling it of the crank. Now I don't have the marked positions for putting them back. And I found it was very difficult to line up the holes for those 6 bolts for tighting the crank pulley and harmonic balancer back on.

Has anybody had the similar experience before and/or any suggestions on how to get the crank pulley, harmonic balancer and distributor back to the right position in my case?

Thanks!
