1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL

8 cyl. engine (overheats quickly)
375 Horsepower
Automatic transmission (makes slight noise when shifting)
Problems with heater
Rear right-hand shocks not working properly
Odometer not functioning
Great sound system (only plays cassettes though)
Brand new vintage alloy wheels (nice)
Fully functional soft-top and hard-top
Body and chasis in great shape.

Now, I might purchase this car, but I need to know how much it will cost to fix up the aforementioned (engine heating, shocks, transmission, adjust brakes, and odometer).

The listing price is $6000, but I'm going to try to get it down to 5000. People have told me I should replace the loud engine, as it doesn't get good gas milage. Truth be told, this would be my first car so I'm completely clueless.

Can anyone help me out?
