Can anyone please tell me how to replace the bulb in the vanity mirror in a 1998 SL? Looks like you pry the plastic piece away from the visor, but I'm not sure.
The directions are not in the owners manual and I've been in situation before were I've broken things while trying to fix them.[:@] I figure I go to the mountain and this one and ask the pros.
Thanks in advance,
E

P.S. In one of my last post I was looking at new tires. I bought the Pirelli Nero. Very cool price and they handle great, like driving a whole new car. A++

Yes, you can carefully pry out the entire mirror assembly from the main visor, work from the bottom with a thin-blade screwdriver. Be careful not to put too much stress on the insert as too much will crack your mirror. I wouln't know that first-hand, of course, but just wild speculation....

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the response. Just wondering if you yourself have replaced that bulb in the past? Is that bulb a dealer item or something you'd find at a Auto Zone. I buy almost nothing from those aftermarket places, but I figure MB would charge 18.95 for a light bulb...and a light bulb is a bulb right?

All the best,
E
