Default $2000 for an ABS control module???

The ABS light on my 86 560sl stays on all the time... the mechanic wants $2000 to replace the control module... does this seem right?

Not a cheap item.

Once had a similar problem. The MB mech. started by bleeding the break lines.....got lucky, resolved the problem. Worth a try.

for a new abs control module, $2000 actually seems a little too cheap. if the bleeding doesn't work you might try ebay for a guaranteed used one. a bunch less money, are normally dependable and not hard to replace yourself
