Default What is this unit?

The rear left tire blew apart on the road last night and when I went to rescue my car, round a box that mounts inside the wheel well under the rear left fender was ripped off it's mounting and hanging by it's hose. What is this unit?

chassis221, I'm running into ABC and some other issues with my 2001 CL 600. I'm new to the forum but was checking out some information you had previously posted. I feel like I'm getting the run around on the problems, saw that you are from Philly and know your stuff. I'm in Conshy, any way to contact directly to discuss?
