Default W220 S600 problems

Hi I have been having a bit of a nightmare with my 2000 s600 just had insulators and coil pack changed and it still shuts down the left bank of cylinders my mechanic says he cant get the MB diagnostic software to talk to the ECU. The original fault was that 2 of the spark plugs were arcing this damaged the insulators which then damaged the coil on the right side, this then would cause the ECU to shut down the left bank presumably, but even after the change it is still happening and the left side is shutting down, does anyone have any ideas? also the crank sensor was changed and he says it made it worse.
Thanks

If you encounter instances in Model 215 / 220 vehicles equipped with engine 137 of engine running / combustion misfire complaints, please refer to the following possible causes and remedies.

Note:
For additional diagnostic information, refer to Diagnostic Tree for V12 (M137, M275/285) Engine Conditions posted on Star TekInfo>EDAC, and/or DTB P-B-07.61/44 and P-B-15.10/52a.
Cause 1

:
Check engine light on with or without engine running complaint characteristics. Codes P0300 (P2050) and one or more misfire fault codes, P0307-P0312, for left cylinder bank.
Remedy 1

:
Remove left ignition module and inspect for discharge. Refer to WIS document no. AR15.12-P-1100L.
Discharge has occurred if: a. Scorch marks are seen on the large diameter end of at least one red rubber seal and/or b. Illuminating the ignition coils reveals chipping, wear or signs of scorching on the lower face at the black plastic tower.
If no discharge has occurred, do not replace the ignition module; otherwise the ignition module will be debited back to the dealer. If discharge has occurred, remove and replace the ignition module. The red rubber seals of the ignition modules must always be replaced following removal.
Cause 1A

:
Increased oil entry into combustion chambers of the left cylinder bank due to driving style with extremely high cylinder shutoff (CSO) frequency.
Remedy 1A

:
If oil fouling is clearly visible, remove and replace spark plugs and install old ignition module. If old style spark plugs (designation 14FGH) are installed, remove and replace spark plugs using spark plugs with designation 14F. Refer to WIS document no. S
I15.10-P-0001B (STI>Miscellaneous>Temporary Postings>Service Information on spark plugs).

Cause 2
:
Check engine light on with or without engine running complaint characteristics. Codes P0300 and one or more misfire fault codes, P0301-P0312, for left and/or right cylinder bank.

Remedy 2
:
Remove ignition module of affected side of engine bank and inspect for signs for discharge. Discharge has occurred if: a. Scorch marks are seen on the large diameter end of at least one red rubber seal
and/or b.
If, when researching engine running complaints, no fault code is stored in the engine control module the ignition module is not the cause of the complaint and should not be replaced. If combustion misfire with fault code P0300 is found in conjunction with further misfire fault codes, the engine control module is not the cause of the complaint and should not be replaced.
Refer to WIS document no. SI07
.00-P-0008A (STI>Miscellaneous>Temporary Postings>Service Information: Recognition of combustion misfire).

Remedy 2 - Parts Return Information:
All replaced ignition modules with a part number that begins with 275 (275 150 04 80 and 275 150 05 80)
must be returned together with freeze frame printouts to Warranty Inspection. Ignition modules returned to Warranty Inspection without freeze frame printouts will be debited back to the dealer as of repair date May 16, 2003.

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the check engine light being on caused by misfire codes P2043 … P205C (P0300 … P0312), please refer to the EDAC/V12 Engine Complaints Diagnostic Tree posted on STAR TekInfo (P-B-15.10/52) for diagnosis.
If the engine control unit is either part number A025 545 74 32 or A000 153 28 79, replace the engine control unit with one of the below part numbers and proceed with the software update as described below.
After completed diagnosis and possible necessary repair, the ME2.7 engine control unit should be updated with flashware CD version 09/2004 (release: 000 448 0000 0004) or newer. After flashing, the ME2.7 engine control unit will have the part number A137 153 0879 on the control unit version when viewed with the SDS screen, regardless of what is on the outside of the control unit. The following engine control unit part numbers can be flashed:
A000 153 29 79
A137 153 00 79
A137 153 01 79
A137 153 04 79
A137 153 05 79
