the transmission is quickly failing on my 1984 500sel euro spec. i happen to have a trans sitting around out of a 1988 420sel american spec. would this be a direcr replacement? what problems might i face other than a possibility of different gear ratios? please help if you can.

 

Good question i think it should bolt right in.
