Stuck in park

Default Stuck in park

Shifter is stuck in park and will not release. Any ideas of why and how to fix. 2001 S430.

yup see it all the time tow the car to the dealer and replace your shift selector assembly.

having that exact issue as I sit here and hack this out from my seat waiting for the tow truck! So does the siftt selector assembly also include new sensors? Anyway to get around this right now?

what sensors are you talking about???? Cuz i just ordered one from a dealer, cuz i need a new one

not sure, spoke to roadside service, technician said there are two sensors and if there is no way to override the shifter to get it out of park. Still stiiing here waiting for *&#&%@% tow truck!

must remove shift lever assembly and unclip the lock pin in solenoid.

stepping hard on the brake and wiggling the shift lever hard might also work sometimes.
