Default Shuttering when applying the Gas Pedal

I have a S320 (1995).

INTERMITTENT Problem:
The car dives fine on the freway and street. Sometimes, when I need to slow down, I take my foot off of the gas pedal and car slows down (let's say from 60 MPH to 35MPH), when I apply the Gas pedal to speed up the car shutters (feels like the wheels will be coming off any moment!), the harder I apply the gas pedal the less power the car has. So stop, turn off the car. Restart the car and drive the car again and everything is fine may be for two days and all of the sudden it happens again.

This can happen any time but not on a regular intervals, on the freeways, streets, uphill, downhill, when the car is cold, hot, warm.

MB dealership has seen inhtree time and they cannot figuer itout. On a chance that the Fuel filter may be bad, I had the fuel filter replaced (did not help any)

Any suggestions.

Thank you

Default RE: Shuttering when applying the Gas Pedal

Symptoms lean thought your car is going into "limp home" mode, which can be cleared temporarily by cycling the ignition switch. Best to have the DTC codes read and identify what is going on. Normally associated with this action is one of more dash lights coming on (Check Engine, ASR, ABS), but not always. Could be as simple as a brake light switch or a wheel speed sensor or other items. Usually, the error codes tell the story and where to start the diagnostics and repair.
