Default S500, navigation problem

I have a 2000 S500, and a few months ago, the navigation stopped working. I bought the car about a year ago and it (navigation system) was working fine until earlier this year. Whenever i push the NAV button, the screen either reads "No Navigation CD, Please insert Navigation Cd" or "CD Reading Error, Please change CD"--the navigation cd is in the system while it displays these messages. I have also used another navigation cd and the same messages appear. Any suggestion as to what i can do to fix this problem? Thanks.

I have the same exact problem on my 2000 S500. Does anyone know if this is repairable without replacig the entire navigation unit? I tried all my CDs and they all have erros and cannot be read.
