Default S430 2000 Where do I get Navigation CD that will work

I just bought a 2000 S430 and i have the navigation cd the car came with. The cd is scatched up a bit and everytime I load it into the navigation console the screen gives me an error message that its unable to read cd. I tried a friends cd, he has a 2002 clk and the cd had smaller scratches but it gave me the same error message. I'm starting to worry that the navigation system might be defective and its not the cd. What should I do. And how much should it cost to do it?

I had the same problem, but my computer was able to read it and copy it. The copy then worked in the car. If not try ebay as mentioned before me. I have an entire set I am going to list on ebay.

Did the disc work on your friend's CLK? If so, your drive may gone bad.

Did you buy this Benz in MD? Looks familiar from eBay. Anyway, you can definately get the CD from ebay...anywhere from $25 for one to $150 for the national set. I have 3 versions of the set that includes Alabama if that happens to be the one you need. Let me know. The MB dealership doesn't carry these because the don't make them anymore and the most recent version you can get for the 2000 is from 2002 (I think...haven't seen any newer versions). Good luck.

The disc did work in my friends clk, if in fact the drive has gone bad. What are my options and what is it going to range in costs? Do I have to buy a new navigation and have them install it. or is it something like reseting the existing navigation computer?

You may be able to change just the CD drive on your COMAND.
