s320 auto no reverse gear
Merc s320 auto reverse gear fault. The car is a 1995 model.
In reverse the car would not move. Drained gearbox oil and refilled along with filter clean but would take take full capacity of oil about 2 litres less than it should have.
Will now reverse on flat ground but not up hill. When you select reverse there is no jerk as you would expect. Any ideas?

Sounds like you are looking at either a gearbox overhaul or a replacement gear box.
I have the same problem with my gear box on an E-250 and am getting a replacement gear box this week. Repairing the gear box is too expensive compared to a replacement.
