Default S320 ASR light on

Hey guys my ASR light comes on when I leave the car wash and the car slows down. But if you restart it goes away and the car is fine. Any idea what this could be? Its a 95 S320.

Oh yes I also forgot that the cruise control also stopped working since this problem started. Any hints??

Several possibilites to cause these symptoms. Consider checking out the wheel speed sensors and related wiring at front wheels first. Restarting is only a temporary fix. If a problem exists, the trouble light will reappear. Bestto get a reading of the diagnostic error codes and go from there. Most import car repair shops can do that for you.

Hey just thought I'd update this post for informational purposes. Its been many years. I re-wired my ETA, new wiring harness, new brake light switch, new ASR computer and the problem went away.

Cheers!

The ASR is dependent on ABS to function properly. You need to scan the computer for faults. A faulty wheel speed sensor could be the culprit but it could get more complex with things like actuators, pumps and solenoids.
