Default S Class 140 rev counter faulty

I Have a 140 s class 400 sel and the rev counter works intermitently when it goes off the engine also runs lumpy and cuts out i would appreciate a wiring diagram or diagrams for this model so i can check the td or tn signal is present going to the cluster.
If there is anybody who can help i would be very grateful as a new instrument cluster is £762.02 an expensive guess!!!!
