Default S 320 3.2 Inline 6 Timing chain

My car has 90k and runs fine. But I just replaced a timing chain on my Mustang 5.0. It made me think about the the MB. Does the 3.2 need to be replaced at a certain milage?I looked in the maintaince bookand it doesn't say.If I replace I guess I should do thewater pump at the same time, but this isn't listed also.Thanks. </P>

The timing chains on these engines are typically good for life, however the guide rails will crack over time and cause excessive chain slap. Usually the guide rails and tensionerdon't need attention until your mileage is well into the upper 100's range like 160k miles plus.....Also the water pump is totally seperate from the timing chain so it only needs replacement if it's leaking or the bearings go bad in it.
