I have 2 almost quarter size rust bubbles on the top of my s430 by the sunroof edge. I spoke to my mechanic and he told me that its really bad, but that mercedes covers it. Something about rust and corrosion for a certain number of years. My question is, If merecedes covers this, how long is the coverage? My cars a 2000 and I wanted to know if I should bring it to a mercedes dealership. How do I let the service center know about this. Any suggestions or experiences please let me know.

I have a 2001 S500 and also have seen rust spots creeping up in places. For a 5 yr old car, it's very dissapointing.

The rust is mainly around the edges of the wheel arches.

I am the 2nd owner of the car and the previous owner lived in areas where the council was always salting the roads because of snow.

But I'm still getting small rust spots creeping up from underneath the paint is 2 other areas on the car.

 

the fealer will entertain you, but nothing is mentioned about goodwill or warranty on rust.

it's the act of nature.
