My grandfather has a 1987 Mercedes 560SEL.. We need to replace the starter. I have done this on many domestic cars and figured it would be a breeze. I am having a tough time getting this thing out. There is a cross member in the way and a few other things. I will remove the cross member but I am wondering if there is anything I need to know before doing it. Does the cross member just unbolt? plus it seems like the rack and pinion steering is in the way ....Should i remove this as well? any help is much appreciated...THANKS, RYAN
