So i bought this 02 s430 about a month ago , got a good deal on it. one reason being the radio was not working. So while investagating the problem i noticed the stock amp was missing. so i purchased a aftermarket one and installed it. i hooked a hot wire from the batt with the big fuse , and there was already a blue wire laying there labled acc (dont know if that is stock?) im assuming the previous owner had some enourmous big stereo set up , big amps and big speakers and all that crap. I also found the speaker wire that had already been run back there for his set up in wich i used , also found a big ground in the front left of the trunk. when i start my car the amp turns on , i notice the amp lights up red , when i shut the car off the amp seems to shut off , the red light goes out. however the amp is staying on and killing my battery every night. i have unplugged it , to test this and my car will start fine the next day , when the amp is hooked up , it kills my battery. does anyone know what the problem might be? thanks for any help.

 

You need to draw out the wiring so you know what you are doing.
